As for bashing the religion, I did not, I simply stated that if their religion is so structured then why not implement a solution that can service the rest of us that do not follow their religion.

I'd pose the same question for those who insist on closing on Sundays. And you are putting down THEIR business practices it appears mainly because you were in a hurry to get gear, and in this case it conflicted with your schedule.

Tamas:
Simply put, I will re-think future purchases based on the policies that do not agree with my habits and beliefs.

Just out of curiosity are you related to them or do you work them?

That is certainly your chioce, but people act as if waiting a week for internet or mail order products is somehow unthinkable. IMO if I need something tomorrow, I either purchase it locally, or make damn sure that the company I order from will get it there tomorrow.

And NO I do NOT work for them (a quick look at my profile confirms that), and I am NOT associated with them in any way. I just have always had issues with people who complain about a business that has published policies, and sticks to them. I could go online and complain that my car ran out of gas, and the dealership SHOULD have warned me that I needed to put GAS in it, but what does that accomplish, and what does it say about me?

Ah, Diver's Cove - that brings back memories! Do you still have your "Gorilla Diver" T-shirt (I got mine in 1981)?

No, I was one of Al's first customers in 1970. I helped install the air compressor system.

Talk about service... He loaned me his personal regulator while mine was on order.

We would dive Shark River Inlet at night from the Belmar side. Eleven pm, two am, whenever. My parents came one night and my mother later told me that she became scared when she couldn't see us, but could hear the noise of the tanks and weight belts colliding with the rocks as we entered the water.

Those were the days.

Wow, I don't know that LP also has eBay store. Do you remember LP's username on eBay. I am just curious how and what they has posted.
It was a couple of years ago - they were listed under "Leisurepro" I think. I don't know how long they had been in business - also, I don't think that they have had an eBay presence for a while now since I never saw them much after I got my computer from them.

I agree that LP has its place...and I've bought from them several times. Thanks for the on-site view of the store...

Yes but LP.com does not do air fills or classes ( usually a lost leader for shops ) If LP puts the small shop out ,where will you get air and classes?

Here we go again..............

LP rocks, I have a lot of extra stuff that I would not have otherwise because of price. I Still buy my main stuff From my LDS but nearly everything else....SP Jets $40 saved Bio Filter $60 saved, and I could go on and on. Lets be honest, its all about the money, Thats why I can afford to go diving AND live in a house

I'll buy my own compressor, rent my own O2 and He T cylinders, and pay GUE for training.

I could have saved 40$ on my jet fins. I just ordered them today thru my LDS. It was kinda a hard decision cause strapped for cash right now but I got to try on a pair of an employees. Good thing too cause LP had given me the wrong size to order when I emailed them. Not that I wouldnt order from them. I would. But it worked out okie this time. Scubatoys tho did say they would match LP's price and they have manufacture guarentees as I understand? So I would start with them first when looking for gear. Plus they have excellent customer service.

I'd buy a compressor from LP and get my fills in my own garage ;)
I don't mind travelling to get high quality training. :D
Beside that, the good LDS will survive regardless of LP or other internet retailers. The crappy ones will close but very few will cry for them IMO.
