Okay so i'm a bit confused on this. I have the legend octo and was wondering what kind of first stages i can use with it? Can it be used with a piston or do i have to get a balanced or what? I dont really know much about the different kinds of first stages so can someone help? Thanks!

Pretty much any you want. It makes no difference if it's piston, diaphragm, balanced, unbalanced, brand X, Y or Z as long as the first stage intermediant pressure (IP) is within the range that second is designed for and pretty much everyone except Posiden uses 135-145 psi. Depending on the particular first and second stage it may need to be adjusted a little but that is not a big deal, that is the case pretty much any time you hook a first and second stage together for the first time. The only minor concern is if you use 2 different brands, you might have to take the reg to 2 different shops for service.
