Take me with you. PLEASE! I need to get away from my life for a few days soon. Seriously considering a road trip somewhere over the 4th. But have to be back on Monday to teach class at noon. So a Fri, Sat, Sun trip is seriously being contemplated. But it's gotta be low budget. I have tent for sleeping in. 3 man job. Or 1 man(me) and 2 women would be cool (and preferred) as well.

Perhaps you should go to be his officer in charge of the dust cap?

Hi all,

Took a quick dive in my pool in my gear to try out my new computer and evidently forgot to put the dust cap back on after disconnecting it from the tank. I hung it up to dry in my garage for 4 hours and just now went to put it away when I discovered the dust cap was off.

What should I do? Anything?

While it is true that probably nothing is wrong, there could be on small chance there is an issue. Have a look down the inlet at the filter. Make sure no creature has crawled in there. Not to worry, I can't imagine any insect getting past the filter, but you want to pluck or vacuum it out if one has gotten in there. This is why it is prudent to cover the second stages too after they are thoroughly dry.

Have a great time on your trip.

I store my regs all the time with no dust cap, on purpose, but I do put them in bags and they don't live in the garage but I seriously doubt that leaving the cap off for a few hours would in any way cause a problem.

Go have a good time and no worries.
