Hi all, sad to be leaving layang-layang tomorrow. (yeah! they've got free wi-fi). current is tolerable. why worry - just drift with it. schools of scalloped hammerhead sightings after every morning dives. mantas & devil rays later in the afternoon. excellent trip. temp have been max 30 - min 26 C. i was fine with my Scubapro 0.5mm streamer.

I went there in mid-March for a week, didn't see a single hammerhead.

a pal came back last week and saw some schooling ...

as with most stuff its really hit or miss i guess

my first day today...2 dives...get wet dives did not see much.

Kinda why I find it so hard to say no to Sipadan/Mabul...... you see so much on EVERY dive ....even the checkout dives! I would love to see schooling hammerheads though and mantas....

I was in Sipidan in 05 for 2 weeks....vis was about 30'. The only things I saw were Turtles...saw the wall a barrcuda once....would go back on a free trip.

Travelnsj, they'll 'show' you the hammerheads in the morning into the blue deep dives. i believe you arrived in the afternoon flight. the 3pm dives usually are shallower dives - coral & reef dives.
