Lakeland divers?

Started a new job today. Leaving for Lakeland for a 7 p.m. appointment Friday night. Just in case I get laid over for the weekend I would be interested in diving close to Lakeland. Any suggestions. If I don't have time this weekend, I still may be back. Looking to hook up with anyone to show me the ropes in Fla. Being a Midwestern boy I don't have experience with gators. I ain't skeered, just don't want one sneaking up on me.

The best places to dive close to Lakeland is probably Devils Den or Blue Grotto in Williston.Blue Springs which is north of Orlando is an option. There is always Lake Denton in Avon Park but thats not real fun. I was down there last weekend and the vis was all of 15 feet. The springs are great.

I,ll be leaving from Polk City early to go diving in Pompano Beach saturday morning. Your welcome to follow or tag along if you want. I'll be coming back early sunday.
