About the same distance probablyto Lake Murray as is to Lake Whitney from Dallas....several of us will be at Murray tomm. if you want to join in....no entry fee even!

Actually we did Lake Murray last Saturday and Lawtonka lake on Sunday. Wife wanted to get out of town for mother's day. Although she does not dive, I had a great time. It was a bit cold for me and vis was horrible but what the hey. We got wet and down under.

Hope you just like the sulfur smell below 65ft.
Oh, bring a light or two if you want to do any depth its one dark and nasty lake.
We always did rescue classes there and man that brings back some memories.
Be very careful with the overhangs on the cliffs!
The material was washed out under the stone cliffs and it makes pockets.
Not some place you want to find yourself.

I am off to teacher a class. Hope you get to dive....I understand about Murray...have a great time and be safe!! PS---ditto to Andrews comments,,,I have dove Whitney on several occasion,,,,not the best---but heck your wet!!!
