So I recently bought a Seaskin with Kubi fitted.
I opted for kubi due to many recommendations and being a very simple system.
Today I tried the kubi system for the first time, when connecting the gloves rings to the suit rings, a little force must be applied so the glove rings insert into the one on the suit.
What's happening is that even with minimal force, the oring holding the kubi system on the suit pops and the inner ring starts sliding inward to the suit.
Most looks like the oring is a tiny bit too big to enter the groove sufficiently to hold it.
I have tried on both arms and the problem happens on both.
I have disassembled the system hoping it was a mixup at the factory with the oring that hold ths seal and the oring that lock the system but the oring holding the seal is thicker than the one that holds the system.

Any one face a similar problem?

Cheers

Do you have any pictures? Also have you added a drop of lube? It makes a huge difference to the effort required (to almost no effort in my experience)

I will record a video later but i can push the inner ring effortlessly and the oring just pops out of the groove. Almost as if the oring is just a bit oversized.

Double check you have the right O-ring in the right groove. I think I had something like you describe when I changed a glove and put them together wrong.

Already did.
The inner oring is thicker and smaller in diameter. It's the one that holds the glove in place.

So here is the video of the oring popping.
Not much force applied. Is this normal?

Is that video with the drysuit sleeve inside out? Something doesn't look right - you may have the wrist seal rings back the front. The black o ring is held in place in a groove almost as deep as the o ring: I cant get it to pop out.

The pic below shows the wrist seal ring next to the cuff, in roughly the final position.

1) You insert the wrist seal ring assembly inside the drysuit sleeve and
2) Push it into the cuff ring until the red ring comes to rest against a small lip at the end of the cuff ring assembly 'A': the wrist seal ring cant be pushed outwards any further. Then
3) Lock in place with the black o ring- the black o ring sits in a deep groove and stops the wrist seal assembly from being pushed back into the drysuit sleeve/cuff.

If the above is correct, and the o ring is popping out when you push the wrist seal ring inwards, then you certainly have the wrong o ring. The O ring in your video looks a lot fatter and smaller than the one I use: could you have mixed up the black o rings (fat ones for latex seals and gloves, larger thinner ones to lock cuff ring and glove ring in place)?

Help this helps...

Two other tips -
1) spit, or antifog mix (50/50 water and baby shampoo) are great lubes for these rings
2) A tapered metal cocktail shaker makes a great o ring applicator device (link also shows how the o ring should fit in the groove).

Cheers

Hi.
Thank you very much for your time to help me.
The sleeve you see in the video is part of the suit. It's an add-on to cover the kubi rings for protection.
I have disassembled this a few times and have confirmed that the oring that holds the silicone seal is fatter and smaller than this one.
Is there a chart or manual with the oring dimensions or specifications?
I can't even find a manual from kubi website.

Thank you.

Unfortunately I think the only 'manual' is the small pamphlet that comes with the rings, and is somewhat confusing in its labelling. Even the store doesn't list the specifications.

I measured my o-rings: the black ring you need that locks the assembly in place is 3.50 mm thick, while the ones to hold the silica seal in place is 5.00 mm thick (ring diameters vary according to which set).

If you have a difference thickness then maybe reach out to Seaskin or Kubi. Its possible Seaskin mixed up some o rings for the cuff that were meant for the glove assembly, or some other brand.

Cheers
Rohan.

So I got home and tore the system apart.
The gloves have the correct orings and impossible to mix them with the cuff side.
But the retaining oring on the cuff side is 4mm instead of 3.5mm.
I think that half a millimeter is enough for the oring not to go into the grove.
