Wouldn't that be the 3rd? From the pics so far we have Back Mount, Side Mount and now Chest mount...
IIRC BM version uses the same CL (placement) so it’s only the mounting to the wing that varies there vs SM

E2A: ok, the milk cartons do sit higher there so you’re right — still a 3rd config 😅

I'd like to see how the CL manages to fit in the BM configuration unless it's some sort of custom backplate.

Front to back (L2R) sandwich: CL, wing/bp, cans (next to cylinder)

They did mention that this config (single tank BM) would need a xdeep bp/wing (doubles sized) so that the CL fitting can pass through to the can (also the mounting plates for the cans)

I think the BP is “stock” xdeep one, the wing might or might not be custom

I'd think they CL would be pinched between the tank and BP? I wonder if a set of doubled LP50s would also work?

People have been diving the current sidewinder CL combo in back mount since the SW1 was released. The weight of the tanks is no more pinching than having a weight plate on the back of an SMS75. The CL mostly expands laterally at the kidneys. The cheesy spiral wrap anti collapse tube in the CL is critical regardless

I haven't seen a SW1 in the flesh and had no idea that configuration was possible. Just seems like any area without any room to spare but then again I usually dive SM.
Having a single unit that can go BM to SM without requiring any significant reconfiguration is very appealing. Although it would likely get very wide using double lp50s, perhaps that's not a configuration which makes sense for it but I like the idea of redundant bail out ala JJ etc.

Yeah it exists. I've had a sidewinder since 2018 and perhaps 300 hrs on it over 250 dives now. SM CCR is a specialized tool that really sucks outside of its niche. The SW has terrible flood tolerance, terrible cell protection, and wears like a sack of potatoes - and even worse with suit gas and suit heat incorporated.

It excels in tiny tight caves but beyond that it's a hard pass for me.

Those are several of the things I was hoping would be looked at with the SW2.

It's that or some sort of CM unit but honestly I don't like things on my front.
