Last chance I have for a vac this year and thinking about the keys. Just wanted to get some feedback on the weather in September. Good? Bad? Usually bad enough to merit not even going? Primary purpose for going is 5 straight days of diving.

thanks

The water is still warm and the diving in Sept/Oct. is awesome as long as the weather & winds cooperate (which we cannot predict). We did have 7 consecutive weekends in the Fall of 2011 get blown out completely, yet most weekdays it calmed down to doable. Last Fall we had days and days of continuous good weather and great diving.

September is still part of hurricane season, you take a gamble when you plan a vacation around Florida and the Caribbean during hurricane season, I've done many in the past its usually not a problem but ymmv. Water doesn't stay getting cold until mid/late October, but its weather dependent, of course!
