I haven't used one of those, but I have used an army surplus jungle hammock a couple of times. It's basically the same thing, but hanging between a couple of trees.

Sometimes it is nice to get up off the ground, but I didn't like the fact that I didn't have any room inside for gear.

Personally, I like a tent with a vestibule, where I can get my gear/shoes in out of the rain.

Plus, the cot doesn't fold up very small. You could get a BIG tent that would take up less room, have more room inside, and probably not weigh any more.

But I could be wrong :wink:
 
I have an offroading buddy who uses one of these. He sets it up and a canopy and is done with set up/break down in about 4 or 5 minutes. Not bad. If I were going to get one, I'd buy the xl one to have a little more room.
