Out this morning with Captain Mike, Kayla and Layla on Kyalami’s sexy red boat based in Jupiter.

Calm seas with summer temperatures down to 25m. For Florida, visibility was down just a bit but I think it was still great. I try to never lose perspective of the dedicated divers in the Midwest who are happy to dive a river with 15 feet of visibility. What would those super dedicated divers think of our vis? Conditions have to be really poor here in Florida to allow myself to snivel and I prefer to just be grateful.

There were at least a dozen GGs all around and over the Esso Bonaire and the Miss Jenny.

We dropped on the heels of Emerald and Gung Ho (both shark feeders) so the Lemons and reefies circled and circled, unnaturally close and full of expectation. At the SS, they weren’t bashful at all.

The boat was full of really great people today. It was nice to see so many familiar faces and I love that diving attracts a broad tapestry of people.

Third day diving with my new Genesis 3.1 DPV. Really satisfied with it and getting much better at speed manipulation, power management and operating the safety (last one most important). Can’t wait to use it on some technical wrecks but really, really motivated to get down to Bonaire to cruise the coastline from northwest to southeast.

Thanks for the updates conditions look good. Anyone else diving with JDC this Saturday?

We have a group of divers that shore dive South Florida beaches with Genesis scooters. Over the past 6 months we have covered a lot of ground.

I’m betting you’re in a group of divers that includes Rodney. After talking with him once and hearing his experiences with all the premium DPV brands, I was sold on getting a Genesis. He could pinch hit as the Chief of Marketing for Logic.

Since then I’ve picked his brain a couple of times and I’m looking forward to coming down to participate in the extended shore-to-wreck routes that you guys have developed. He shared one route that gets him three wrecks and back to shore. That’s right up my alley.

Your maps are really cool and alot of ground covered.

Quick question..........Scooters & tanks are not light weight. How do you get everyone's gear from your car/truck to the water's edge. Do you use carts or one person carry's then stays with the gear while the car driver searches for parking? That's some expensive gear and gotta keep eyes on it.

Well, it depends on the site. Since we do early morning dives, we can always get parking close by. We usually suit up on the "hard" and trek it over the sand with all of our gear on. However, sometimes the trek to the waters edge is quite long. For those times we have a custom built "land turtle" that we place the scooters and the dive gear of the person pulling the land turtle (Land Turtle USA).

I know Rodney and have not dived with him yet. One of the group members has been on the "wreck trek" shore dive with him. Not sure I would venture past the second reef, but maybe....
