And unfortunately plays a part in what I've been saying for several years now. The current management of Ginnie does not give a s--t about cave divers. We are definitely more of an annoyance than we are a profit center. I have been predicting that in 10-15 years or less Ginnie will start taking hints from land owners in Mexico and close to divers.
I very much hope I'm wrong, but I'm pretty convinced it will take one or two more big incidents and things will change.
But of course stabbings and shootings on major holidays are OK
Don't worry, once I win a lottery, I'll buy Ginnie and the best FL politicians money can buy. Will set things straight for ya'll.

Have they been sued by cave divers, or divers who were in a cave?

A former president of the NACD testified as an expert witness against Ginnie in a case involving someone that jumped into shallow water head first leaving themselves paralyzed.

I was curious about the lawsuit question and took a look for lawsuits filed in state court in the last 20 years against Ginnie Springs. I found zero suits filed by cave divers.

In Alachua County I found three cases:
- 2007 - a swimmer drowned
- 2011 - a trip and fall (by a diver of some sort but non-diving related)
- 2021 - negligent security regarding an assault

In Gilchrist County I found six cases:
- 2006 - struck by falling tree
- 2021 - struck by falling tree
- 2021 - assault
- 2023 - motor vehicle accident
- 2024 - Memorial Day Weekend shooting
- 2024 - Memorial Day Weekend Shooting

There is also the suit involving the commercial diver graduation party that was filed in Duval County.

I did not review the federal docket. This obviously also does not include any claims made and resolved prior to a suit being filed.

The one I mentioned was in the mid-90s.
