First let me complement the dive shop, Cave Adventures, for their great service, friendly attititude and full tanks. The way the staff (notably Frank) dealt with us makes it a pleasure to do business with them.
The pond was drained in March to kill the overgrown water plant life. I was there the day before the bpond was drained and then again yesterday. It didn't seem like much plant life was killed out. As a diver that learned to dive there and went there often in the 70s and 80s when the center channel of the pond was more or less clear of grass it is a bit disappointing to see the opne ares now so choked and greatly reducing the ares to dive. That said, the pontoon boat we rented from Cave Adventure ran well and we had carreid lunch so we had a grerat day of diving and snacking and swimming. Special thanks to the guy that felt the pristine and quite area was made better by bringing a barking hound dog on his boat.
Anyway, boat diving need not always be in the gulf and at 120ft.
