I have a USD j valve and a sherwood j valve. Interested in rebuilding. Also heard of "locking" the valve in the down/reserve position. Just wondering if anybody had any info on how to modify or where to purchase rebuild kit. Dive shops are in short supply in WV. Sorry about spelling and directness, my son (2 years old) is helping post thsi message.

They can be permanetly altered into "K" style valves without the lever. Then, you don't have to worry about them. It takes a while to do so if you hire it done (as in, taking it to the shop), you would be better off just buying new K valves.

There are rebuild kits on the market for some brands of them. Trident sells one.

As Walter said, just leave the lever down. Or send them to me.

Thanks for the info!
