Hello all,

In all my reading and getting ready for the "big plunge" (literally) I'm reading about taking care of the equipment, and that you should rinse out your BC bladders and leave them inflated when you put them to bed.

Do they dry in that state? Does the water evaporate so just humid air releases when you empty them next? Okay, so science has never been my strong point, but this puzzled me...

Thanks for any input!

The inside of your bladder will most likely never dry out. That is one of the main reasons to rinse it out after diving. You probably don't even want to know what kind of green slimy stuff could be growing in there.

You have it right, dark and dank in there. After idle time I have never notices anything particularly rank.

Some will finish rinse with a disinfectant mouthwash or even take dump valves apart for free air drying. I perfer to leave it chem free and together.

Pete
