The sidewinder is a great unit and easy to learn. mCCR will build strong habits. But make sure you have 100-200 dives under your belt before proceeding. Both to build skills and to discover if you really want to make this investment in time, effort, and money. If you are not a hands on, maintenance friendly, gear head then CCR may not be for you.
Do you dive one now? Cause I have had one 6 years and it's mostly weak plastic that will never last a lifetime. Nevermind the highly erratic instructor universe, that its miserable off a small boat, has nearly zero flood tolerance, no CE testing, and poor performance in cold water among many other flaws. It does do somethings very well. I would never describe any sidemount CCR as good for a beginner/first CCR ever

I’m a new diver. I’ve been told I need to do all the other tech stuff first but I don’t want to waste money on a lot of certifications that I don’t need. All the extra certifications I have no are pretty worthless & were just a money grab. I want to receive good technical training & I want a rebreather just because they are cool & I can dive longer.
no

Kiss Spirit since 2017 2015 & maybe 1000 dives. Original Backmount version of the Sidewinder. Rock solid, easy to maintain, it can last forever with a few replacement part now and then. Cables, orings, maybe a loop hose. Mostly in cold water 8-10c, never flooded.

Yes, the KISS will last you a lifetime.
I read your comment as

"yes it will last YOU a lifetime*

Similar to the saying in technical diving or skydiving...

"If you encounter a problem during a dive, you have the rest of your life to figure it out"

No.
