Convinced yet, saintsfan? Or do another 20 people need to add in their agreement :D . It is the course that I highly recommend that every diver take no matter how much diving they plan on doing. It's no waste of money unless you have a terrible instructor.

i think it would be worthwile also to ask around on taking advanced Nitrox, In Nitrox training, the details on the whole lot of depth, air, oxygen would be taken up and it greatly improves on the skills and knowledge you would gain in Rescue training. Nitrox course would go into details of all the computations and relate it to how it affects your life.

If you want to dive with another qualified diver seperate from a divemaster or equivalent, then this is a must in my opinion for every diver.
From my point of view this is my favourite course to teach as I consider it to be the most worthwhile of all courses.

While I am not PADI, I don't think PADI's rescue diver class would be a bad thing to have under your belt. You'd be surprised what you will learn in the RSD class. If you're looking for a push, here it is. By all means, take the class, but, be prepared to GET WORKED! :)

It's one course PADI has done well. Just Do It.

Yes - go for it. It is the best PADI course by far. Another one to look at is IANTD Deep Diver, as this covers some non-PADI stuff - DSMB etc. I also agree about the Nitrox as posted earlier.
However, after the Rescue the main thing is to get some diving in, experience is the biggest asset for a fully qualified (Rescue +) diver. You do not need to do every course that exists...
Best wishes for the course - you will enjoy it and find it worthwhile.

I am currently doing the Rescue course and I have to admit that I learned lots of things that I will never forget...

I am looking with different eyes at the things I do above and under water and at things that other divers do above and under water...

Just a quick reminder, you work a lot during the course and you need to be not a superman but at least fit...

I am overweight and in order to pass the exam I am currently following a diet and trying to be more fit...

It is no use to be a Rescue diver if you cannot save someone due to the fact that you are not fit...

This course changed my scuba life !!!

Rescue is an excelent calss. If you have doubts try picking up a book and read through it. You'll get a taste of the things that they teach. It's also probably the most fun I had in a calss. You get a lot of hands on in different situations.
