Forgive my ignorance but...

Is it possible to rent this gear? I am interested in getting into wreck (recreational limits, no penetration) boat diving off the Long Island Atlantic and NJ coast areas. I understand this equipment is standard for this. (I am taking something called "intro to NJ wreck dive" in a couple of months but was told that pony is not req'd for this course and AL80 tanks could be used).

Basically what I'm getting at is that I would like to try a few ocean wreck dives first to see if I actually like them and want to continue before investing in 2 steel tanks and pony setup. But I don't know whether the LDS's typically rent this kind of stuff.

I have only rented AL80s so far, for quarry dives.

Does anyone have any advice? thanks!

My LDS rents Steel 80's exclusively. Not sure why that would be better than AL80's in your case, but whatever.

I imagine it depends alot on the LDS.

I have seen steel tanks for rent but now ever any ponies. I like to use a pony and with TSA's new ruling....I wish lds would rent them.

You can definitely rent this gear in general but of course check with your shop(s) to see what they have available.

OK, that's good news--I don't mind driving to a different LDS if it means not having to buy all this gear right away...

I apologize for posting this thread--I realize now that I should have just called the shops instead of wasting space here on with this.
