But will he be able to override an offer you can't refuse?

The first rule of Scuba applies: Don't hold your breath! Everyone loves to hate ScubaBoard.

With the changes PADI has made since last year, and the brick and mortar shops fleeing from them, they're going to have a hard time getting that money for PADI. Our shop officially left PADI on the 1st, and all of us have crossed over to SSI pros. I won't be renewing at the end of the year.

I can't give nation wide stats, but the 3 largest in our state, and I believe another 3, have left PADI due to their decisions made in the last year. It's pretty messed up when the owner of one of the biggest 5 Star PADI dive centers, for more than 15 years, doesn't warrant a phone call back from the CEO of PADI. And to be clear, they USED to have that kind of relationship.

PADI announced that the official date for OLPC2 would be in 1Q2018. They had a giant party at DEMA to celebrate. Then demos showing the new product. Looked great. No more student folders. Everything online. Finally.

DEMA 2018 on the horizon and squadoodle so far. Total bust. IMO, their eyes are no longer on the ball - they’re on investor value. Bad omen.

in 1948, 70 years ago, Aqua Lung was established by Rene Bussoz in the corner of his LA based haberdashery with 10 Aqua Lungs
He called the company Rene Sports until 1952 when it was changed to US Divers

In 1969, 49 years ago, PADI was established by John Cronin, Ralph Ericksen et all at Downers Grove Illinois. John was promoted to an executive position with US Divers, brought a cardboard box containing PADI applicants to SoCal with him, pulled Nic Icorn, an active LA Co UW instructor off a drafting table to organize amd create an effective dive program

Now the two are worth 1.2 BILLION !

Well, to be more accurate, they're worth what they will get for it. If memory serves, the asking price was $1.1B last year, and it sold for $700M.
