Ah, it's the whole 'driving on the wrong side of the road' issue again.

I think the big confusion is that the rest of the world has true 300 bar tanks, whereas in North America we dont have 300 bar tanks, but we do use 300 bar valves/regs. Over here, the max pressure of any common tanks is about 240 bar, so we just put whatever valve we want in it, and fill it to the pressure listed on the side of the tank.
Good point Lee, I knew about that one actually, but figured it didn't matter much as they are anything but common. Do you happen to know what valve they come with?
300 bar 7/8 inch thread.
300 bar HAD to be used in anything above 3442, that's why you see them. I used to dive with a Divator in the '70's, which also used a 300 bar valve they were rated at 4350psi and the tanks were made by PST. 300 bar tanks are out there. but they're not common.

... who also gave you the diesel engine, the Audi, BMW, Mercedes and sausages!
In Europe, the Germans have earned (and rightfully deserve) a reputation for building products that are made to last. The DIN coupling is their invention too.... not because they are german, but because nobody else cared enough to make a standard that could... (to put it in diving terms) ... hold water.
