Hi, I have just recently starting to post on Scubabard and just saw the trip as of today and would like to sigh up, Coz is one of my favorite dive spots and have made the trip a few times. I was wondering because of so many different levels of diver experiance if the dive boat rousters were going to be put together by experiance level and if a request can be made for some of the advanced dives. Sorry if this question was posted before but so many threads and so little time to read them all.

Ok, First that's great you want to join, welcome aboard. Just call Al at Bay Adventure to to hold a spot.

The boat rosters and rotations are put together by me. I use a number of thing to figure this out.
1-Experience level ( I get most of this info from your profile)
2-Past groups wanting to remain together
3-Families and friends
4-Geography (Divers with same ability from same region)
5- Places divers have visited

Is it easy, NO but this is a on going process which we have become pretty good at. Last year we had 95 people & 72 diver and I had 0 complaints.

I also get PM requests from diver all the time and we try to accommodate them the best we can.

We have complete cooperation from Dive Paradise and I can make adjustments while we are in Cozumel if needed.

Advance sites- The answer is yes, we will have some small faster boats that groups will rotate to and can visit the advanced site. Your DM must feel your group can make these dives.

Dive site are voted on by the divers on the boat regardless of the boats size.

Divers are divided into groups of 8 and will have the same DiveMasters during the entire Invasion, they will rotate with their groups to different boats each day.

There will be a DM in the water with each group(no exceptions this is a Dive Paradise policy) and they will determine when the dive is over.

If you have any other question please feel free to post them or PM me.

Hola mi amigo. Hope you join us on the trip.

Although I have met a few other SB members during my dive travels over the years, I have never joined in on an event like this before but this time it seems like a must do so I will get signed up this week.

I am wondering if any others might be interested in showing up a day or 2 early and staying on Isla Mujeres for a night and getting an early visit with the whale sharks? I am seriously considering this approach since it takes me some 8 hours to get to the Yucatan from my location and I may as well get the most out of my time in the region during this trip. Anther side trip to consider would be Chitzen Itza.

Definitely looking to take advantage of the unlimited shore diving while in Coz - 3 dives a day just does not cut it. My last live-aboard trip to Palau 11 months ago I was wearing the dive staff out by insisting on a 5th dive almost every night. Any other single divers that want to get in at least 4 dives per day, you will have an automatic dive buddy with me around.

It's definitly a must do event and we would love to have you join us!

There were alot of the members last year that showed up several to 1 or 2 days early. Some of them stayed an extra day or 2 and even up to a week after. I agree that once you make the flight that you should make the most of it. Keep reposting you intentions and hopefully someone would be willing to join you. You only need to reserve your room now and if you need to add days on later, you can.

In case you didn't notice, we have available a whale shark excursion or cenote trip at the end of the Invasion. You could join in 1 of those as an option and then go on to do other things from there. Here's a link to the excursions.

If you have any other questions we'll do our best to help! Welcome!

Hola new/future shore diving buddy! Haha! I did 1 or 2 shore dives every day/night during last years invasion, and so did lots of other people. There was always something cool or different to see and it's about 20' max depth, so you can stay down a pretty long while - it was great, I loved it! Unfortunately, I saw lionfish on all the shore dives - but fortunately, it made for fun hunting :D, :swordfight: Also, since so many people were doing extra night boat dives too, Dive Paradise was only charging something like 30 bucks to go.

That's funny you mention the Isla Mujeres thing... I gave that some that too! That would be awesome! But right now I'm thinking of going early to do a rescue course and staying later to dive cenotes. I really wanna see whale sharks too though, so I was thinking maybe do it with the group... but man, Isla Mujeres would be SICK!! You definitely planted another seed in my head! Let me see how kind my tax refund is, lol!

Oh, and HAPPY NEW YEAR ROXANNE!!!! And everyone else!!!!!!!! May it be filled with lots of safe diving :D:D:D

How long are you thinking about staying over? I'm thinking about staying over for a week so that I'm still in Cozumel/Mexico for my bday on July 14.

THAT's hilarious, I complained from the moment I saw the roster last year. And got stuck with a bunch of rowdy, loud-mouths who became more and more obnoxious as the invasion went on! With their ongoing shenanigans and ridiculous Precision Dive Team #8 gang sign. Made me wanna puke.

This year I want to dive with them again! :D

Did they keep you from sleeping? :)
