The mini invasion was very cool and it was good to hook up with the friends I made in Cozumel again. :)

As an added bonus we got to dive with Pete (Netdoc) and greet Elena at their dive shop. Thanks for sharing the knowledge Pete!

The diving was good in the Keys, with visibility ranging from probably 15' in some places to around 40' in others. Much better than we have in the lakes of Kansas. And the party time after the diving was excellent as well. We got to see some night life in Key West and South Beach in Miami.

One of the highlights of the trip was at a little BBQ place in (I think) Key Largo. I believe it was called Porky's. We had sat down and ordered our drinks and food. When the food was being delivered Kevin walked over to the rail by the water. Then he kind of jumped and did a little kick. I saw something fly from his foot over toward the table! :shocked2:

The object hit Bill in the head, then deflected down on the side of Robert's plate. Everybody jumped away from the table in surprise and looked to see what the heck it was. It was a big land crab, and had one claw in Robert's burnt ends! :D

When Kevin walked over to the rail he must have stepped on the crab, so the crab reached up and pinched the heck out of Kevin's big toe. Naturally Kevin kicked to get the crab off his toe and it happened to have the perfect trajectory to get to our table. The crab peeled off a bit of skin from Kevin's toe when he went flying too.

The waitress's came out to find out what was happening and everybody had a good laugh over that. I expect it will be a story they tell at Porky's for a few weeks to come. :D

A picture is worth a thousand words so here is a pic of the commando crab and the injured toe.

Just imagine that crab landing in the middle of your table at lunch. :dontknow: It scared the hell out of me. Larry just picked it up off the table and said very calmly "Hey look its a crab." By the way...Porkies is in Marathon, Florida.

I will be diving, without my wife, on my anniversary in Coz next year. The guys in my family have an annual guys trip over Memorial Day weekend and next year we are going to Coz for diving.

That is just too funny!

I hear that LowVizWiz is having a birthday today! :balloons::birthday:

Wiz, hope you are out dancin'...(and we know you can - there's video proof on SB :D)

"Fokus!"

Sorry Wiz that we were out of touch and missed your birthday. Happy belated birthday old man! We'll just have to buy you a drink in Coz to make up for it. ;)

Just met so many cool SB members at SB FL October Megadive... It has me strongly looking into joining you lot for Coz 2012. Fwding all the info to one of my best friends to see if she is interested in going with :) Otherwise I might be looking for a roomie! Any specific date I should shoot for making a deposit? And, is it terribly difficult to POP from Cancun to Coz? Seems airfare is significantly cheaper to Cancun... Anywho, hope this ends up working out for me, because it sounds awesome!! :)

I did the Bag Drag for the first time last year and it did happen to be for this event. It was pretty simple. It does take time, so plan on spending your day travelling. Pick up your luggage and head out of the Cancun Airport, pass by the people trying to stop you to give you a ride or sell you a condo. When you get outside of the airport, look to your right, you will see the ADO Buses, you want one to take you to the Ferry at Playa Del Carmen, it is a 45-60 minute ride, the bus station at Playa is about 2 blocks from the Ferry terminal, get your ticket and stand in line. The ticket booth was before the ferry terminal, but was easy to spot. The ferry runs almost every hour, except for what appeared to be a siesta break in the afternoon. You should be able to find a ferry schedule online. The ferry ride was aprox 45 minutes and they serve beer. When you get to Cozumel, they will unload your luggage, it will be in an unorganized pile, and will start to get bags to the people they belong to, grab your bag and grab a taxi to Hotel Cozumel. There should be more experienced people on this board to clarify anything that I have said that is incorrect, like I said, I have only done this once. The one way bus ticket was aprox $15-20, I believe ferry was around the same.

Precision Dive Team #8, member Kate is getting things lined up, it is looking good in my favor. I am "probably" going to make it in 2012!!!!! Roughly 90% chance I have things in fokus. I just have to FOKUS a little bit harder!!!!!!!!

Joe is absolutely correct with his information, to clarify you will need to plan for travel time between Cozumel and Cancun. It will also cost you around 30.00 - 40.00 each way.

As for a deposit that's a tougher question, I would say when your sure you can make the event call Al and get your deposit in. It's only 100.00 per room. We still have plenty of space now but we are limited to how many people we can handle.

That's GREAT news Joe, FOKUS always help clear things up.:D
