Of the two new regs I set up one was 175 and the other 155. This was the initial reading without any cycling. Since these were stand alone first stage, my expectation would be that the IP was not adjusted and the seat was not cycled. If It had been a full set then that would be different.

Using scuba tools excellent IP inline adjuster tool.

I bought 6 stand alone first stages. IP 150 on first check then down to a stable 140 within 3-4 cycles.

Hmm, I understand your point. But, I don't think a factory should ship with QA testing, whether it is a full set or not. Hopefully, Chris may see this thread and offer comment.

Great piece of equipment, isn't it? Scuba Tools has also come out with a product for breaking in regulators (Quick Set - Poppet & Seat Break-In Fixture) that has a price point ($332) which is almost too good to be true. :)

Hmm. It is supposed to ship at 135-145. There are two checks before it ships. I honestly don't know how that would have not been caught. Could you send me the serial number and I can investigate?

Honestly, when I am on the road I have a part time shipper where not always are things done exactly the way planned..Been working on that. Even then however, I haven't found any regs when I've checked that are more than 10psi ever when checking, nothing close to 175.

If you would like to return them just let me know and I will be happy to send you a call tag and refund you upon receipt of the regs
