Hi... I have taken OW certification course twice, and I have taken Red Cross CPR (Professional Rescuer/1st Responder) seven times. And nobody ever told me that there are CPR masks and shields designed especially for divers! These devices are the same as the "normal" ones, but lack the bio filter, which clogs when wet! Needless to say, I have one in my gear bag now. I just though someone else might appreciate the info. Look at http://www.cpr-pro.com/divers.html

Don't feel bad. I used to teach first aid and I didn't know there were special pocket masks for divers.

Looks like any other pocket mask without the filter which comes out anyway. I don't even think that all the pocket masks that we've baught over the years even came with a filter.

so the ones with filters - are those like ones that DAN carries ? or something different ?

Laerdal makes a pocket mask which normally comes with a replaceable one-way valve and a replaceable hydrophobic filter. You can buy the mask directly from them or from almost any medical supply house. I believe that they are the manufacturer of the DAN mask and also private brand for a number of other groups. I only briefly discuss them in my Red Cross classes, since they don't do any good unless people carry them with them all the time. Divers can stuff one in a BC pocket or keep it in a shore kit, just remember if you aren't going to keep it handy it's pointless.
