So I stopped the diuretic, my blood pressure didn't change and still hasn't.

I'm not a doctor, but I am taking diuretics as a result to HBP as well. The diuretics though are to counter the effects of my pressure reducing med (sorry, don't know the exact word) which is ankle swelling, and also helps eliminate the sodium and potassium, which I have issues getting rid of. It has no direct effect on the BP.
Not an issue to dive, though. I have a letter in hand.

Excess water retention according to the MD increases BP. I had ankle swelling also. So the diuretics were to counter that. Something changed now I no longer retain water like did 20 years ago. It's been over 6 months since I stopped the diuretics and still no issues and the cramping is almost gone completely. I've been take potassium supplements, potassium affects the body's ability to regulate water retention. My Yorkie takes the same diuretic I took. He takes it because he's prone to bladder stones. It seems there are many uses for diuretics. Glad you are doing well.
