Halcyon harnesses, like the one in the photo, use a bungee cord instead of an o-ring. You can see the knot on the back side.

Agree, also I've found bungee lasts much longer than inner tube. In fact I've never had bungee break but have torn a few inner tubes prior to moving exclusively to bungee. When I did use inner tube for lights I'd always thread a few spares every time I changed webbing so when one broke I wouldn't have to undo harness to put another on.

Halcyon uses edpm bands which seem to last longer than inner tubes. Apeks uses neoprene bands to hold the lights which is a nicer solution. I was interested in these but never ordered it.
