Hey, when we going diving??...Thinking about the Fling in March or April, wanna make the trip??....get in 7 in 2 days....

My home waters are cold and I have a DIN Dive Rite RG2500ICE. But I am going to Roatan in May and after finding the DIN-yoke adapter irritating on a previous trip, I might be better off getting a yoke 1st stage just for vacations. Any good candidates?

I can't imagine that my second stages would complain about that as long as the IP matched. Any other cautions?

Thanks!

I suggest you just get a yoke fitting assembly for your first stage and install it. This is even easier than swapping out all your hoses to a new regulator. Additionally, your second stages will not need to be tuned to the new regulator. Call Dive Rite Express or Phil Ellis at Dive Sports or the guys at Scuba Toys. Once you've acquired the yoke fitting you will be set up for either arrangement with less hassle.

I have a Dacor 900 balance diaphragm regulator that has had a complete overhaul, it comes with a Pacer 2nd stage and a Pacer octopus. The first stage was completely disassembled, cleaned in an ultrasound, all new o-rings,HP seat and diaphragm and set to 140# IP. Both second stages were also cleaned in the same manner, new o-rings and new exhaust valves. unit also comes with lp inflator hose that has a new valve stem. HP ports ARE 3/8 so you would need an adaptor. This regulator was left by a customer who did not want to pay the repair bill. The unit is scratched and has some chrome loss on the second stages but is functions flawlessly Price is $75.00 delivered. At this price, you could afford to leave this regulator in Honduras and used the space and weight savings for duty free rum. You can contact me at enloe.d@sbcglobal.net

That's also a good idea. If I read the parts list right, it's less than $40 but I'd have to see how much my LDS would cost to install it. I assume it's more involved than changing a hose, which is about all I feel comfortable doing to my regs.

It is actually surprisingly simple. I converted a couple of Yoke regs to DIN. You use an allan wrench to undo the DIN assembly (it just screws into the reg, kinda like a hose) and screw the Yoke in it's place.

I seem to remember needing a large wrench to undo the yoke, so you may need one to tighten it up. Once you see the parts, it should be pretty easy to figure out exactly what you need.

OK, one fastener doesn't scare me. Neat, thanks for the info.

Reg parts, new computer, looking for a new camera... man, these vacations sure get expensive fast.
