Branford, maybe Mayo, Florida.

Immediate diving in this area is not spectacular, however we are centraly located between the springs to the north...and the Gulf Stream below Jupiter/West Palm...all about 2 to 4 hours away...the Keys are only a little farther way. In the summer, beaches around Vero Beach get really nice...only about an hour from here...

With combinations of ocean and springs, you can dive quite comfortably year round. Springs stay at 72, ocean in south Florida drop to around 70 in winter and mid 80's in summer

...Im in the resort/hotel/convention center biz,

I need to support my habit, so its gotta be near somewhere theres work....

Dang. Do you really want to stay in the States? Plenty of resorts throughout the Caribbean, and depending upon your experience you might be able to fall into something great.

It is a different lifestyle, and if you want to seriously consider it, I've got a bit of perspective on making the big move, so drop a PM.

anywhere in miami/ft lauderdale area....keys are a couple hours away...good work...major airports with cheap fares...close to the carribean...

Jupiter and West Palm areas.

The Orlando area is the BEST option. Hey, even Wendy lives here, so it can't be bad! We are centrally located between the springs to the north and reefs to the south. We even have a few springs around here to just get wet in, and if you want, it's only an hour + drive to either coast. As for hotels/conventions etc... I think we are #1 in that area as well.

Yikes - I've been talking to some of my peers in the Orlando area in the business. They were hurting already, and events of the last week have sent cancellation soaring.

Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm County's did better than last year, which isn't saying a lot but the cold weather up north in January and February sure helped.

I would say in the Fort Lauderdale area!

You are 2 1/2hrs from disney and cave/cavern diving. You are 1 hr 15min from Key Largo. You are about 4hrs from Key West
You are a 30min flight from Bahamas. You are 3hrs from the west cost and 3 1/2hrs from Tampa. You are just south of south of Boca (expensive) and just north of Miami (high crime). You are 40min from both Miami and West Palm international airports and have Fort Lauderdale international airport in your backyard. You are a short distance from two large cruise ship ports (Ft. Lauderdale and Miami). Nighlife is pretty fantastic. Golfing is great too. Miami and Ft. Lauderdale offer good job opportunities. Several good universities in the area.

Above all you have some of the best wreck diving and shore diving in Florida.
