I just wanted to share with the 30,000++ members of scubaboard the overwhelming joy i feel at the birth of my first-born -- a daughter!

I come from a brood of 3 boys with most of my cousins being boys... she's also the 1st grandchild from both sides of the family so she's a little extra special

her name's Maria Soleil Gabrielle and she was born at 12:17am of Nov. 24; she weighed in at 6 lbs, 15 oz; and measured 19"

she's an absolute darling!!! i am soooooooooo happy!!!

i swear she'll be in the water before she can walk, and be a certified diver before she learns to drive and will outswim any smug guy out there...

i also have to buy a biiiig gun... any guy who makes my angel cry will learn to swim with the fishies the hard way

attached are a couple of pix

May I be the first to offer my congratulations !!!

Prepare yourself to be wrapped about a little finger.
It's wonderful!!!

being a dad is way cool dude, congratulations. My little princess turned three years old this weekend and what Kracken said is true. I would do anything for her.

Congrats dude and be really happy... she doesn't look a thing like you! :D Just kidding of course, I think I cried for an hour after my daughter was born. It's good stuff. I didn't cry like that again until she became a teenager! I don't think I've stopped crying! ;)

Congrats Daddio!! Remember, don't change how you live because you have a wee one now, integrate them into what you do. You have the greatest joys of your life to look forward to now! :)

Congrats! She's beautiful.

Yep, looks like a scuba diver to me. :)

Shugar,

Congratulations. Being a parent is both the hardest and the most rewarding thing I've ever had the privilege to do. In 6 months you'll be a different man. Not that babies are mystical or anything.....it's the sleep deprivation. Brace yourself. :)

Wow!!! When my first child was born the delivery felt like a car-accident. I couldn't imaging crying at a moment like that....when all you want is for everyone to get out alive.... ;)

And I have to agree with Kraken and Marc. My daughter has me just where I want her.

R..

She's beautiful...congratulations to all three of you!
