If all your gear was stolen.....

.....and your Insurance Company insisted on paying for two replacement BP/W rigs, one for tropical diving and one for cold water diving - what rigs would you choose? Would they be the same manufacturer or two different?

I'd want to know who your insurance company is so I can switch.

I did get my gear stolen, so far it was not covered by insurance and i replaced it with exactly what i had... Halcyon all around SS plate for diving in the northwest, AL plate for the warm water

I would do a wink and nod deal with the dive store that the insurance company is dealing with and get exactly what i want.

We went out to plunge into the chilly waters of California for the first time last Saturday at Casino Point with Steve Millington who helped us make the transition from tropical to kelp. It was fantastic and we got to wear rental BP/W's from Hollywood Divers (H's) which we liked better than the BCD's we used before.

Halcyon don't make the color I want. Black and white checker so I may have to consider other makes.

I am curious as to why your equipment was not covered?

Id get the same stuff that had just gone.

Standard SS backplate, harness and Frog Indigo for singles and Frog Midnight for twinset.

Unless the insurance was generous and fancies buying me a 90lb OMS wing for twins at twice the price which i somehow doubt.


I use a 3mm SS plate in warm water too. Offsets the buoyancy of the damned idiotic Aluminium tanks!

I would replace the gear that was stolen. No, I see a upgrade let them replace my gear with two new rebreathers. One for summer one for winter.
