I'm looking to remove a bunch of marker and some small very minor rust patches from a galvanized steel tank. Does anyone have advice as to how to do this without damaging the galvanize?

It says it is for (among others) galvanized surfaces. I have not tried it in this application, but have on some vehicle applications with good success and it is not obnoxious to work with.
I happened to get it off Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000F6UHDY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) but you may find it at HD or Lowes.

Let us know how it turns out.Actually I'll be at Dutch bright and early tomorrow for 2-3 dives then have to leave around 1pm. I'm going to stop by Home Depot on my way home and pick up a bottle to try it. Thank you for the advice.
