Aluminum tanks pretty much suck all the way around and I can’t really think of anything I like about them.
They make excellent stage cylinders. Also good in very warm water with little exposure protection. They definitely have their place.

But I don’t tech dive and I don’t dive in warm water, I‘m allergic to it. So in my world aluminum tanks suck.
Good point.I’m not a huge fan of them for back gas but I love my AL40 pony bottles. I’d hate to sling a steel tank and carry it the entire dive like I do my AL40.
