Soak it in warm water for a bit, then just work it around. Mine popped straight out. Don't tug it by the straps, sort of push it from the back against itself. If you don't want the old wrist mount (and I'm not sure why you would) you can just rip it to shreds :)

Yep soak in 130F water after taking the straps off. They are held on by spring pins. So you will need a pin or punch to depress the spring pin. Don't make your water over about 160F or you'll risk damaging the electronics. A two or three minute soak should be enough.

I still have my Vyper from 1999 as a backup and placed it into a DSS boot with bungee in 2006. I agree with the advice from Aquaregia & Mr Carcharodon: a gentle soak in warm water should make it flexible enough to pop out after you've remove the spring pins. Now the real question remains, did you get the limited edition hot pink or stick with basic black??

Thanks. I got it out after realizing you have to remove the strap pins first. The plastic arms that hold the pins are actually part of the computer, not the mount.

I also found some mild salt deposits on removing the wrist mount so I rinsed the thing in warm water.

I got the DSS black boot from DSS website (no instructions). Now I'm waiting for the 3/16 bungee I ordered from someone on Ebay and plan to use this method to thread the bungee:

I haven't tried that method, not sure I see the value of it, unless maybe you're regularly changing exposure protection from dry to wet

DSS sell bungee cord too

I don't change from my 7mm often, but there is little drawback to the method and I don't have to worry about exact placement of the knot.

I recall DSS sells bungee at something like 50 cents/ft and I bought 100 ft for $12 on Ebay with only $5 shipping charge
