Ok,
I can't find a good way to phrase the subject.

Anyways, does someone have a good way of making something that can attach to a wrist mounted computer, and then to your arm, so if the band on the computer should slip/break, you won't lose the computer?

Thanks,

Darryl

Thanks Jet,
But I'm looking for something more for safety, rather than an arm slate. Something to ensure that no matter what happens, I don't lose the computer.

Anyone else?

Darryl

No problem....
What a lot of the divers around here do, is to buy an equipment lanyard - one with elastic cord. Loop the cord through one of the holes in the wrist band and back on itself.

When you put the computer on put on the lanyard as well and if the wrist band fails, the lanyard will hold the computer.

How about getting two lenghts of shock/bungee cord. Tie one loop so it goes around your wrist, and the second through the first loop and a attatchment point on your wrist?

Or as a second thought, if you have room where the band attaches to the computer, thread a loop of bungee through that. Then perhaps it can be setup such that the bungee is what is acually snug on your wrist, and the original band is the backup.

A inexpensive source for bungee is the automotive section of WalMart. Just look for various tie-downs.

Thats kind of what I was thinking of. I was going to use bungy cord to secure it to my arm, and simple nylon rope to attach the bungy to the computer.

Thought there would be a better way though.

I use a lanyard - right now it's a "standard" one, but it soon will be replaced with one that is an equalizer (I'm not sure how else to explain it, it will compensate at depth so it won't "suddenly" become too big)

There's a picture of a lanyard arrangement at the bottom of this page on the Divernet site. I too think there ought to be something better, but I've not found it yet.
