Would someone be kind enought to post some links to where I can buy some weights to attach to my Oxycheq BP? I'd like to remove some weight from my weight belt and permanently attach to my BP. There are lots of pre-drilled holes in it, I just can't figure out where to get the stuff to attach to the holes! :)

Ideally, I'd like to add in the 10-15 pound range.

Thanks,
Jason

They don't have it listed on their website, but I would assume that Fifth Dimention in Issaquah carries the Halcyon V-Weight if you are using doubles. The V-Weight comes in an 11# version that sounds like it would be about right. Otherwise a weighted STA could do the trick.

Give Matt a call at NWSD he can outfitt you with a 6# STA.

Assuming that you're comfortable with the amount of weight you presently need one option is a channel weight. As per a thread on TDS (with pictures) I created a channel weight that added another 8lbs as is needed for local dives. It simply bolts on through the STA holes. I believe Kidspot here had a different technique for achieving the same goal:

At least you won't need a metal melter/ruin frying pans etc (guilty on both counts), but personally I find melting lead is therapeutic. Hope this helps.

I have a FredT P-weight sitting at home (channel weight). Not 100% sure it'll fit the bends in that backplate, but if you're interested, fire me an email. issean@gmail.com

I think it's 9lbs. Will have to go back and look.

A pair of XS Scuba 5lb weight pockets on the lower cam band allow you to add 10-12lb of weight, without the dangerous fumes from casting molten lead.

Before getting a weighted STA, I kept two (2) pound coated "bullet" weights on my waist band slid all the way back to the plate (one on each side). I held them in place with stainless keepers. This set-up worked very well, but the weighted STA distributes the weight better for trim purposes. Either way (or both) gets weight off of your belt.

FredT makes P and V weights. I can't recall the weights off hand, but I'm sure he can make them to fit your bp. I think he sells them for $25 plus shipping. PM him here.

be aware that moving weight from a belt to a plate/STA may make you go head-down, particularly with a steel tank...

Until I bought my DUI weight system. I put #4-#5 in two X-Pockets kept on my waist strap right in front of the D ring location (that's along with my FredT LG SS BP, STA and steel95). I liked that just fine. YMMV.
