Is there some sort of secret I don't know about? They just told me they are booked out until 2028, and that there is a wait list for the wait list of the 2028 dates. Is there another way?
How on Earth do you get reservations at Misool?

divetrip.com is running a group trip in 2026, but it's sold out and they have a wait list. You might check with Misool and ask them to give you the names of some dive groups that are booked and perhaps you can join on a group trip.
I have fiends who were there this fall. They booked two-three years out. We’re on the 2028 waitlist. I hope we’re not actually on a waitlist for the waitlist. Liveaboards go there routinely, though.

I agree, been told the same thing (booking is now for 2028). However if you place yourself on the waitlist they do email you from time to time with last minute cancellations-- so far the cancellations have been only a month or two away. If you are flexible and can go to Indonesia with little notice there are opportunities off the waitlist! They have emailed me on two separate occasions so far with spots open from the waitlist for particular dates, although in both cases I was already committed to other travel or events.

I was considering to combine Misool resort with liveaboard diving in central & north Raja Ampat in 2026. So, I asked Yasmin of Misool resort reservation about the availability before or after the liveaboard trip. She says the same thing, the resort is fully booked to 31 December 2027.
I have been diving in Misool about 9 times, one time in Misool resort back in 2013 and 8 times on various liveaboards. If you are not prone to motion sickness, I would highly recommend to go diving there on liveaboard.
Even if you are prone to motion sickness, the speed boat ride from Sorong to Misool resort will take you 5 hours. So there is no diving in the 1st and last day. Then an extra night stay in Sorong before flying out from Sorong to Jakarta or Manado or Denpasar.

Today I just came back from 10-day liveaboard diving in Misool & Triton Bay (15-24 Jan) plus a week of resort diving (25-31 Jan) in central (Dampier strait), West (Fam), and North (Wofoh). In 2nd half of January we covered much wider and more biodiverse areas than just Misool.
I do not understand the title of this thread!
You are not happy with the reply? Do you think they have something to hide?
You just cannot accept a resort would be fully booked for 2yrs?
What boat did you go on? I'm doing something similar next year. Misool Eco Resort for a week, then as 12 day liveaboard Emperor Harmoni cruising Raja Ampat and Triton Bay.
To get in at Misool Eco Resort you pretty much need to join a trip run by a dive operator like your LDS, etc. I've been there twice and signed up years in advance each time. I think they largely sell their spaces to operators than can fill a big chunk of the resort.

Also I like to visit the Tomolol cave, passing through the labyrinth of mushroom like islands & checking out the ancient Petroglyphs about a 90-minute ride from MER.
