DM # is 5 digits
Diving 34 yrs, several 1000 dives
(I stopped logging dives in 1999)

As far as the survey, i think it proves anyone under 30 still into dragons, video games and fantasy land...

I am so,glad that I ‘certified’ when I did. I missed the ‘Sea Hunt’ heyday, but wasn’t too far behind.

I’m 53. I’m old enough to remember stuff about Cousteau on TV in the 70s and early 80s. I mentioned Cousteau to a diver who is maybe early-mid 30W recently and they had no idea who he was.

Some of the best dragons are in Anne McCaffrey’s Dragonriders of Pern books, which first appeared in the late 60s.

63, certified in 1981, had a fair few years where I didn’t dive at all, occasional local diver and a warm water holiday diver

Well then, I guess the dive world is doing just fine after all!
I thought scubaboard was the end all mother of all scuba related boards, and all the content here is the heartbeat of the dive world. If you read scubaboard you’d think that everyone is ditching their poodle jackets, getting into BP/W, buying Deep6 regs, and about to take fundies. Little did I know that there’s an entire separate world of scuba out there besides scubaboard.
Wow, I’ve been flim flammed!

I'm surprised. I'm 69 and can somewhat recall watching Sea Hunt. But it ended in 1961 when I was in first grade, so that meant I was watching reruns.

Diving since 1959, at age 14. Certified initially LA County in 1963. I’m currently 77 years old.
