Hello.

I am curious to know which kind of products I will need to buy to service myself my regs ?
Right now average price is around 80-100$ for a complet set - I do plan to dive soon Doubles and Sidemount who will be around 200 $ max for a Twin set /100dives or 1year. 5 years it will be close to 1 000 $ in servicing my regs.

What kind of ultrasound cleaner do you use ?
Which tools do you have ?
Where do you buy parts for Scubapro / Apeks regs ?
Apeks : scubaspares
1rstStage Kit : 28 € Apeks 1. Stage Kit - Deepstop GmbH
2ndStage Kit : 13 € Apeks 2. Stage Kit - Deepstop GmbH

Kit repair should be hard to found or do there are any good online store ?

Is it a good deal to service myself or still better to let a tech doing it ?

Thanks

I don't know the answer, but I do know that the answer will depend partly on the specific regs you want to service.

It wouldnt cost that much as very rarely do regs need servicing annually provided you take reasonable care of them.mostctools are not needed or have work arounds, finding a reliable source of kits can be a problem.

I have found 3 stores who can sell parts (Apeks Tek3 regs example)
scubaspares --- cheap
Atemregler Apeks 1. Stufe TEK3 Zeichnung | Online Shop | W+S Water Safety Europe GmbH | Seit 1999 --- not cheap x2
http://www.scubasupport.nl --- some specific parts are cheaper

I made that quickly

I wonder if it will not be better to buy multiples O-rings and other parts and build/seal separate Service Kit (at least we know how many O-rings are included into a Service Kit). Not sure if they are correct I must maybe only check for specific regs but I made that :

I found that :
O-Ring Kit 1000 - Deepstop GmbH
Deepstop O-Ringkit - Deepstop GmbH
Amazon.com : Scuba O-Ring Kit for the Prepared Diver : Diving Regulator Accessories : Sports & Outdoors

But don't need 1000 O'rings but it reduces 1 O-ring for 0,08 € at that price a Service Kit will cost nothing except 79 € (it's the price of a 1x Servicing)

I found also O-rings size chart
https://www.frogkick.nl/files/apeks_o-ring_specificaties.pdf
USA AS568 O-Ring Size Chart | AS568 Spec O-Ring Parker Sizes

Using those 2 docs I am not able to get a Size for it...

I'm not certified tech but if such course exist in Europe I'm on. If you need to be a dive shop owner I'm afraid I can't.

I'm not certified yet, waiting on course through my LDS. Anyone can attend, no affiliation with shop needed.

I have serviced my own regs in the past but I get them done by an experienced tech these days. My thinking is that if I do 3 or 4 regs a year I'm never going to be as good at it as someone who does 100 regs a year.
