I have an opportunity to get a used Suunto Spyder. It's got a few scrapes but it works well (so I am told) and it is a pretty sharp looking watch/computer.

Is it a good model and how much should I expect to pay for it?

My dive buddy got his spyder (used) on Ebay for about $160. It seems to be a lot like the Suunto Stinger that I have. The spider works well for him and has been reliable. Some of the differences we have noticed between the spyder and the stinger are:
the spyder has less user progamable features and does NOT do
Nitrox.
You can download your dive profiles from the spyder onto your computer using the Suunto "dive manager" software and cable.
If the price is right, go for it!

Well I am going for my Nitrox cert in two weeks...:snorkel: so that kind of puts a damper on things...
