I bring everything except tanks + weights. Often I will bring my quattros instead of my jets because of weight and because I go places where I am likely to want to snorkel. Non-scuba roller bag. For a dive trip I take hardly any clothes.

Regs, computer (carry on) and mask minimum. My wife's wetsuit is our next priority as she has a very low tolerance for cold. For longer trips with multiple day's diving I take everything except weights and tanks, especially safety gear.
On a flight to Nassau two years ago a guy wore his bc in the plane like a jacket. No one questioned him.
Trying to figure out how to get my gear down to Florida and I told my wife I was going to wear my bc to the airport like a jacket. She thought i was crazy. I started looking on the internet to see if it is allowed or if anyone else had done it. I guess I am not the on frugal (cheap) traveler. Anyone else ever wore their bc on the plane? Also considering packing regs, computer, booties, and mask in carry on. Then shipping 2 bcs to our hotel for them to hold until we got there, which they said they would allow. Does anyone else ship their gear or just bring it on as a carry on?

How much does your list changes based on the amount of dive day?
For exemple, would you still bring the same equipment if you only dove 1 or 2 days on that trip?

How much stuff do you need? I can very easily fit 1 full set of dive gear and clothing for a week in 1 checked suitcase (within weight limits and medium-sized) with the regs and cameras in carry-on. I've seen several folks talk about wearing the BC on the plane. Will probably get you some weird looks...

I gave up lugging around a load of diving gear abroad with me many years ago. I just take a shorty (seldom use it though unless sea is below 25 degrees) mask, fins, torch, dive computer and GoPro/camera equipment. I've ended up with some pretty crappy rental regs over the years (squeaky, not the easiest to pull air through) but have always got by. Because I don't dive at home it just doesn't seem worth spending a fortune on decent gear that gets used for only 3 weeks a year. And the older I get the less I want to carry around any more than is absolutely essential! Having said all that though it would be nice to have some nice smooth and quiet regs now and again!

We are flying spirit and all we will be taking is a personal bag, no carry on. I refuse to pay Spirit $80 round trip to bring an extra bag. Our regs and computers will fit in my back pack and my clothes will be divided among the other 4 back packs. My wife would not travel with me if my son and I wore our bc on the plane. Plus my 13 year would hate me if I made him wear it in public. So i am just going to ship the bcs down a couple of days before we arrive and have the resort hold them.

I get 2 bags on Delta.
