to pay full retail, be my guest...but, the markup is hefty and some of us see value in buying quality, lightly-used equip.

In the last month I've scored a DUI drysuit, a DUI hood, and Jetfins for between 50-75% of retail. Each item was in virtually perfect condition. I've easily kept almost $850 in my pocket in just three purchases.

I notice that there are a couple of sellers on selling a lot of NEW equipment.

Does anyone know the identity of the following sellers (Scubabargain, Scuba-Equipments)?

They are both located in New York. Is it possible these sellers are in fact LiesurePro?

I don't purchase anything second-hand as I believe it is false economy !
Why purchase somebody else's castoffs !

People don't sell things on Ebay because it's crap. OK, sometimes they do, but if you can't tell, then you shouldn't be buying new either. Some examples: person can't dive any more, and sells all his equipment. A person upgrades to something he likes better, and sells perfectly good equipment, which some other person may in fact like better. A person sells items because he can't afford to keep them any more. A person moves up the scale, so sells the starter equipment, that's perfectly good for starters.

Besides paying less, another good thing about Ebay is that if you decided to resell the used items you purchased there, you can usually sell it back with minimum loss.

...two sets of tank bands, two bc's, a Dive Rite Classic wing rig, two reels, 4 twin manifolds, one of those old Scubapro painted frames masks, dive knives, OMS computer, Scubapro brass spg, an AUL canister light, two new aluminum 80's - just your normal everyday stuff.
But wow, make sure you read the description carefully and ask questions - I've had a couple of deals that were less-than-perfect. Overall though, it's been a great experience.:sharky:

I just won this off ebay for ..... $11.50!

It looks perfect. I have a book copyright 1955 that shows this harness.

I bought a dive knife off of ebay that looked new. Aked the seller if it was and he told me that it had only been used five or six times. When I recieved it the thing looked like it had been used 600 times without being sharpned. I asked for my money back and made a complaint agains the seller. My advise only buy something that your life doesn't depend on.;-0

I'm definitely a fan of eBay. I've bought and sold stuff, including getting some diving bargains, and have generally been happy.

However, there are some strange things that happen. I just saw a Scubapro Bubble Deflector go for £21 plus postage, when you can buy them brand new for £11.95 including postage!

Personally I've bought a drysuit, boots, undersuit and other bits off eBay, but the bits my life depends on (regulators, BC) I've bought new.

yep I've seen used DVDs selling for more than you can buy new In Woolworths
I think people get so carried away with bidding that they're actually prepared to pay more than it's worth...... crazy people:D

to be had as I've bought and sold quite a few items through e-bay. As stated above pay close attention to the sellers ratings and never buy anything without seeing at least good pictures of it, and definitely watch out for bidding wars. Decide how much you're willing to pay and then go for it.

Just a few of the items I've picked up nicely priced. Scubapro MK25TA/S600/R390 NIB $390.00, Henderson 1.5mil Skin NWT $18, and 2 Light Cannons NIB $99/each.

Pay attention and keep looking and the killer deals pop up.;)

I must admit that my New LDS offers some great deals on occasion as well. He therefor gets quite a bit of my money as well.:)
