Also look at the Sherwood regs, specficly the maximus. I always hear people say get an old G250 and it will solve drymouth, but I didn't find that to be the case, in fact I switched from a G250 to a maximus because of the drymouth problem. There is a big difference in those two. I haven't used an abyss so I can't offer any suggestions there. The copper veins that Sherwood uses make a huge difference in how much moisture you get back into the air, and your mouth.

There is another choice too, you could get an Apollo biofilter I believe it is called. Check the apollo site for more info. Good luck and safe diving.

skywalk:
I have always had a problem with getting dry mouth, even after 10mins of diving. currently own MK25/s600. I usually resort to taking the regulator out of my mouth and swalling saliva a few times, but that only helps for a few mins. can't be doing it so often.
whats the best way to combat this annoyance? thanks folks

Switch to a rebreather ;)

Nice warm moist gas! I routinely do 3 to 4 HOUR dives without any problems.. My longest of over 7 hours

If you have to stay Oc, get a reg that has a metal vain in it like some of the mares regs.. this allows the gas to condense so you can re-inhale the moisture..

My advice is drink more water and use less air.

I used to get drymouth with my Zeagle reg. Just kept diving and it has mostly went away. Occasionally on a second dive, I get some drymouth not often though.

Oh and I have dove my wife's Sherwood Blizzard. No dry mouth.

I strong agreed padiscubapro switch to cc rebreather...
You may try use Apollo Bio filter reduce from dehydration

Another vote for the bio filter. The idea of a metal reg, or the sherwood oasis is that the metal reg, or vanes, will form condensation that you get back on the next inhale. And yes, they add a bit - but to get a lot of moisture, adding water to a sponge that slowly disperses the moisture into the breathing line is really a phenomenal difference.

I had the opportunity to do 3 dives 2 days ago with a new Mares V42 all metal regulator. It was so wet I thought salt water was getting into the flow path. I don't suffer from dry mouth but there was noticable difference between the Mares V42 and my Atomic B2.
