now i initially log them in my head first. too much of a hassle now to sit there and write all the stuff down, like back in the day. and when i think my comp is getting close to being maxed out, i download everything to my laptop. more into going through my pics at the end of the day now, as opposed to being a "larry logbook".

I have always used the little PADI log books. Would like to change to a comp program, but have not seen one I like yet!

On paper... as simply as possible.

I have a very good experience / place memory... never seen a reason to write paragraphs about each dive.

There was a time, I could look at the briefest description of a dive and I could easily remember every dive I'd ever made. That is no longer the case. My memory is as good, but now there's too many dives. The reason is to remember them when you have 10 times the dives you have now.

Writing them down in a diary fashion also helps when years later you read back some previous entries and go "Oh yeah! That's was cool! I forgot about that!"
I put entries in my log book with the premise that all can read it. I enjoy letting others, especially non divers read my log book.

I download mine into Uwatec's Smart Trak database and log them into a small passport sized logbook. In the paper logbook I put dive #, location, date, temp, air mix, depth, bottom time, start time and a running total of my bottom time. If the dive is for a certification I'll note that too.

I download and log on paper , so the poll wont work for me .
