Ron, we went by Villablanca every day on our way from Hotel Cozumel to the Caletta, but I'm a really bad judge of distance. Is Villablanca to town walkable?

I walk back and forth to town sometimes from from Caribe Blu, which is just a little closer to town than Villablanca. It's walkable, but it takes a bit of time.

hey firerescueguy, we have to meet up and say hello. this your first time to cozumel, or just first time at villablanca? i too wanted to stay at casa del mar, stayed there probably 6 or 7 times but i'm sure villablanca will be good too. hope to see you soon, terry

The last time I did the walk it took about a half and hour.

Ron

Thanks for the info on walking. Sounds like walk into town and taxi back.

Is there a sidewalk or other type of pedestrian path from the Villablanca/Caribe Blu into town?

We'll be there in May and most likely making that walk a few times.

Yes, there is a sidewalk.

scubawife, i've walked to town from papa hogs, it takes a while but its not bad. when i was there mid october 05 i made several walks back and forth from casa del mar, i was told it is 3 1/2 miles each way, villa blanca is probably a mile closer.

ggun,

Thanks for the quick reply. I've ended up walking in ditches or on the shoulder a few too many times when assuming there was a sidewalk. Sometimes they're just not where you'd think they would be.

I walked that route two or three times when I was there a couple of weeks ago; once or twice I had to detour into the street for a few yards to go around a pile of construction materials, but for the most part it was a good sidewalk all the way on the side of Melgar next to the water.

Glad to help.
