I am looking at taking the reg class from my local LDS next month. Needless to say I am very excited as that was the whole reason I bought HOG regs..
Yep, good call. You'll be shocked at how simple these things are. After you understand how they work you'll realize how easy they are to rebuild and tune. I'd guess they're all similar but I have all the tools in a tiny save a dive kit to dissemble/adjust my first and second stages on a boat if need be. Very few things needed.

Me too, planning to take the class in October. Still need to acquire a D1 1st stage and the manual "Scuba Regulator Savvy" by Peter Wolfinger.
