The scubaboard peeps at OWU just ended the party. Before you think I'm some party animal, I fell asleep at 10.

Oh, and great news!!! I went to a different Dr for a second opinion, got a new diagnosis and new meds and they are working!! So, the Bonaire trip is looking pretty good now.

Won't Maged be relieved??

I have always thought that the mainstream certification agencies were a little lax on their teaching, even when i did my course. When fish did her course some 10 years later I couldn't believe how much they had removed from the basic course.

A lot depends on the instructor. There are many instructors out there that dont do much diving beyond teaching, and therefore never gain any practical experience.

I think I know what you mean about mateship liv but not sure my Aussie education has covered the origin of it... was it during the war in the POW camps... changi?

No it goes back to early colonial times here, and was probably first penned by Henry Lawson in "Shearers":They tramp in mateship side by side...

We are having a blast!! Met tons of people from SB, got a ton of swag, and entering every raffle.
The drive here was full debauchery and what goes on in the backseat stays in the backseat!

Perhaps not, but in my (not so extensive) travels, it seems to me that Americans in general seem to have a sense of entitlement. Get on an airplane heading on vacation somewhere and most likely the group standing up in the aisle causing a ruckus, etc. are American. I seldom see other cultures that visit somewhere tend to make an :mooner: out of themselves in publice like Americans do.

Don't get me wrong, I love my country, but as a group we seem to think more is owed to us, both at home and abroad.

Unfortunately that is true and it doesn't endear Americans to the rest of the world.. Sad that a few bad apples cause so much trouble. I have some absolutley awsome and dear American friends. That is also why Canadians are so quick to point out they aren't American. Sad but I get treated differently when people realize I am not American..
