Hey everyone I'm a newbie diver. I will be getting my open water dive in at Rainbow River, Blue Grotto and Devils Den in Fl. I can't wait! I just wanted to introduce myself here on the forum hoping to make new friends and learn about diving. I live just north of Charlotte NC in a little town called Mount Pleasant. I'm an old man but that does not stop me from having fun. I have been metal detecting for 33 years most of that has been hunting for Civil War relics. Now I want to dive and hunt a little off shore. I have two underwater metal detectors. So if anyone out there has the same interest please drop me a line. For you younguns that means let's hook up or e-mail sometime. :vintagediver: I'm so pump up about my new hobby. Hope to hear from you!!! goldhunter.

Welcome to Scubaboard I'm also a longtime treasure hunter with underwater metal detectors that of course is my favorite thing to do. I am down here in Miami in Key Largo area. If you are ever down this way and need a friend let me know

Hey Kurt,
Thanks for the welcome!! I would love to come down hunt some time. I will take you up on that. Do you find much there in Miami. I would think that the beaches have been hit hard. I'm hoping that the beachs here in NC has not been hit too hard. I know the dry sand gets hunted every day but I have never seen anyone with scuba gear in the water. Have a good week. Jeff
