I was wondering, what are your different laws in each state on lobster fishing / diving.

I've read a couple of things like, No lobsters are to be taken by diving in Maine.

And, No out of state lobstering in Mass. unless you are a resident or you own at leaste

$5000 in property.

1) Are these true?

2) How about thoes other coastal states? In or out of New England.

Thanks,

In Maine by trap only. Rec licenses ar available, 5 ptaps per holder I believe.

If a diver gets caught, gear and vehicle are confiscated and you get arrested. Touching, or otherwise messing the lobster is prohibited.

Thats so crazy! I guess the fishermen want them all to there self.

The lobster lobby is powerful.

I may be wrong but I'm quite sure that our recreational lobstering license holders cannot pull their traps on Sundays!

Cecil:
It is legal in Vermont.

Arkansas, too. I think.

Yeah and nowhere near the ocean. What a coincidence!
