We must be doing something wrong. My dive buddy bought a new Dive Rite BP/W and the 16pd Weight pockets. What is the correct way of attching them. My Halcyon weight pockets attach to the BP, but his DR seems to slide up and down the waist strap. Is there a better way to connect them so they do not slide on the waist webbing. Where do they attach. It doesn't make sense that they should move freely up and down the strap.

Any help would be great. Did we not place them correctly.

they are designed to fit on their super delux-o super-adjustable, every-piece-of-hardware attatched-but-the-kitchen-sink harness kit. The sholder straps come down to some strange sliding bracket that attaches to the waist strap, the weight pockets attatch behind the slider do-hickies...They seem pretty popular at the shop I work at but seem like a POS design to me.

On a TranspakII or Transplate harness there is a ss steel plate that connects the shoulder harness to the waist strap. One of the waist connection loops on the back of the weight pocket goes behind the steel plate and the other connection goes in front and the pocket should stay put. If you're using continious webbing on your BP for the harness ss weight stops for a weight belt should accomplish the same thing.

Good Luck!

Exactly what he said. I just took my weight pockets off last night. I am heading to Bonaire soon and won't need them! yes!:D For the record, the smaller DR pockets are better IMHO because the larger ones feel like two dictionaries on each side of my harness. Too big! I also did away with the chest strap on my Transplate. Inching closer to the Hog harness...

Those webbing locks from DRE work fairly well but may dig into your side if you aren't using protection. Happy diving all!

if you havent dove them yet...and got them where i think you did.....call and see if they will exchange them for the smaller ones...unless you need that size

I'm using the DR transpac and the smaller pockets. I found that tri-glides will not keep the pocket in place. The problem is that the loop in behind the pocket is so large that the tri-glide slips right through. I've even tried a big plastic tri-glide, and I've tried using a SS one and bending it out, but it keeps slipping though.

The only way I've been able to keep the weight pocket from moving is what T-Dog above suggested - put the pocket right on the SS plate. I'm not complaining as that is a fine place to put your weights. I'm also using the DR large pocket (sorry-can't recall the exact name) on my belt. I keep that between the weight pocket and the bladder and is fine for me there.

This information should have come with the weight pockets. I've spent tons of time just like you trying to figure how to keep the weight pocket from moving.

DRE provided this link to their web lock. Their solution. http://www.diveriteexpress.com/hardware/slides.shtml#webbinglock

I'm going to try two of these on each side of the pouch and tie them to gether to ensure the pouch will not hope the webbing lock. If this doesnt work I'll have the local skydive rigger sew them in place. I'm not chasing this thing too much.
