To the OP: All the regs you've listed are in highly regarded and you are likely to love any reg you purchase out of that bunch.

I have a number of friends that dive the Apex's and a number that dive atomics they both breath great. Those two brands seem to enjoy the largest following here locally.

Sveta,

All of the regs you mention are top-shelf items and I you would likely be very satisfied by any of them. As such, your next consideration should be where you will get it serviced - consider which brands your local dive shop carries.

I have personally dove a MK25/S600 and can say it breathes wonderfully. I used an Aqualung Legend LX for a few dozen dives this year and can say that it also breathes wonderfully. I own an Apeks ATX50/DS4, which should breathe similarly to the ATX200 and I can say that I am VERY satisfied with its performance. One comment on the ATX200 - the first stage has a non-standard 1/2 inch port for the primary. It's not that much of an issues, but it would mean that a replacement hose isn't standard. As a result, I would look more closely at the XTX200, as it has standard 3/8" l.p. ports.

Oh, and a cold water regulator performs equally well in warm water.

Dive safely,

Anthony

Hmmm... well, I used an Aqualung legend on a diving weekend, and it was awesome! I talked to two dive buddies who are into cave diving and that "technical stuff" and they gave the Aqualung a good review as well.

I'm kind of hoping maybe Aqualung will do another special like they did earlier this year, where you get an octo for free. I was living outside the States at the time, so couldn't take advantage :(

Thanks for all your posts. Actually i visited a dive shop this morning and came back with a new regulator - i got Aqualung legend LX supreme. I know i won't make too many dives in cold water but it's better be prepared, right?
When i saw all three regulators i chose Aqualung and Apeks and then narrowed my choice to Aqualung - it felt better in my mouth and it looked prettier (as long as the rest is almost identical as you say ;) ).
I'm going on a dive trip to FL in a month so it's gonna be a good way to test it.

Sounds great - except it would be good to test dive it in a pool before you go, in case you need any adjustments.

And I always carry my regs in my roll ons with my computers. In fact, I like them where I sleep at night. ;)

yup, agrre with dandy, go test it out in the pool first. and CONGRATULATIONS on making your purchase! your's comes with the ACD in the 1st satge?

I agree with DD on this one. Get it wet in a controlled environment 1st. Is it a major deal? No. But I personally would do it anyways with any new gear. Sometimes they need "tweaking".

Yeah what the others said really. My Atomics were waaaaaaaaaay too highly tuned when I got them, as a test in the club pool revealed.

I'd recommend making sure your regs work to your liking first (i.e. aren't freeflowing or something) before taking them on holiday.
